Indian Mobile and Telecom industry is second largest telecommunication market in world.
It is expected that Indian Telecom Market will achieve total economic value of Rs 14 trillion (217.37 billion USD) by year 2020.
There are only few telecom operators remaining in India now which are Vodafone, IDEA, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio & BSNL.
All other operators like Tata Teleservices CDMA / Tata DOCOMO, MTS, Reliance Communication GSM, CDMA, Aircel, Tata Teleservices, Videocon, Telenor, MTS, Spice, Unionor, Shyam Telecom have shutdown their services.
IDEA and Vodafone have partnered to consolidate the subscribers and reduce the cost, but still struggling as they are the only one still providing services on 2G and 3G where cost of operating is huge. In case of 4G VoLte service it is just one kind of tower providing data and voice both the service with single licensing cost.
Most of these Indian Telecom operators provide voice and data services in the prepaid and post paid fashion. Data services include, 2G, 3G. Reliance Industry Reliance Jio 4G provides affordable plans and famous in India. 4G is also offered only by Airtel and Vodafone in limited telecom circles.
CDMA mobile technology in India is completely dead now. All the CDMA mobile service providers, Reliance Infocom, Tata Indicom, Virgin, MTS have completely shutdown operations in India.
Tracing Mobile Location of any Indian number is not that easy with this consolidation taking place in Indian Telecom sector. Earlier Mobiles could be traced based on telecom number series allocated to operators in different location by TRAI. Now with use of Mobile Network Portability feature across India tracing mobile has become very complicated job with same logic
